闪石闪石amphibole一族双链状结构硅酸盐矿物。化学通式为A0-1X2-3Y5[Z8O22](OH,F,O)2。式中A为Na、Ca、K、H3O;X为Ca、Na、K、Li,还有Mg、Fe、Mn等;Y为Mg、Fe、Mn、Al、Ti等;Z主要为Si,Al可替代Si,Al含量不超过Z阳离子总数的1/4。根据成分中X阳离子Na和Ca的含量,可以将闪石族矿物划分为4个亚族;再根据Si原子数,Mg/(Mg+Fe2+)和其他阳离子数,划分为不同的矿物种。代表性的矿物有直闪石、透闪石-阳起石、普通角闪石、蓝闪石、钠闪石、钠铁闪石等。闪石族矿物大多为单斜晶系,当X阳离子是半径较小的Li、Mg、Fe时,属正交(斜方)晶系,如直闪石(Mg,Fe)7[Si8O22](OH)2。晶体结构为硅氧四面体以角顶相连组成平行c轴的双链,双链间以Y阳离子连接,它们位于双链中活性氧及(OH,F)-附加离子组成的较小空隙中(分别以M1、M2、M3表示);X阳离子位于链带两侧较大空隙中以M4表示,在相背的双链间有较宽大的空隙,为A阳离子所充填。M1,M3通常为Fe、Mg占据;M2为小半径阳离子Fe、Al、Ti、Mn。由于双链沿一个方向延伸,所以晶体呈长柱状或纤维状。矿物颜色决定于阳离子成分,以Ca、Mg为主时,呈灰白色,如透闪石;含Fe时矿物呈不同色调的绿色,普通角闪石呈深绿色。玻璃光泽。有平行于柱面的完全解理,解理面夹角近于124°和56°,是闪石的一个重要鉴定特征。莫氏硬度5.5~6。比重2.85~3.60,随含铁量增加而加大。闪石族矿物是岩浆岩和变质岩的主要造岩矿物,沉积岩中较少见。富含镁铁的闪石,如直闪石,主要产于区域变质岩中,常与普通角闪石、斜长石共生。富含钙的闪石广泛分布于岩浆岩、接触变质岩、区域变质岩中,如透闪石产于花岗岩与灰岩接触带;普通角闪石产于中酸性岩浆岩和区域变质岩中。富含钠的闪石,如蓝闪石、钠闪石,主要产于钠质岩石形成的变质岩中,碱性火成岩或受钠质交代的岩石中,常见钠铁闪石与霓石共生。直闪石、钠闪石、透闪石、阳起石有时呈丝绢光泽的纤维状集合体,统称角闪石石棉,是工业上的绝缘、绝热材料。隐晶致密块状的透闪石、阳起石称为软玉,其质地坚韧、色泽美丽,可作工艺美术品材料。
