球壳目 子囊菌亚门的1目,又称炭角菌目。按传统概念,球壳目的主要特征是:子囊果近球形,有孔口且有周丝,一般色暗;单层壁的子囊常排列成层,一般有侧丝。 本目大多为腐生菌,常见于树皮、落枝上,也有很多植物寄生菌,广泛分布于全世界。 本目的分类与核菌纲一样,屡经变动。E.米勒和J.A. von阿尔克斯(1973)认为本目包括圆孔壳科、麦角菌科、棒囊菌科、间座壳科、蕉孢壳科、海壳科、肉座壳科、疣孢壳科、黑孢壳科、长喙壳科、疔座霉科、粪壳菌科、球壳科、疣衣菌科和炭角菌科15科。但其中大多数的科在别人的系统中都是独立的目,如圆孔壳目、麦角菌目、棒囊菌目等。在D.L.霍克斯沃思等人的《安斯沃思-比斯比真菌词典》(1983)中,球壳目仅包括4科:圆孔壳科、海壳科、假毛球壳科和炭角菌科。关于球壳目的范围,目前尚无一致意见。
