《中国历史研究法》及其《补编》 梁启超1921～1927年间发表的两部史学理论和方法论的专著。《中国历史研究法》是1921年梁在天津南开大学演讲的讲稿。内分《史之意义及其范围》、《过去之中国史学界》、《史之改造》、《说史料》、《史料之搜集与鉴别》、《史迹之论次》等六章。阐述史学研究的意义、对象和任务，总结中国过去的史学，分析史料的种类，论述史料的搜集、鉴别和整理的方法。《中国历史研究法补编》是1926年10月至1927年 5月梁在北京清华学校演讲的讲稿，为《中国历史研究法》的补充，内分《总论》、《分论》两部。《总论》注重理论的说明；《分论》注重专史的研究，尤偏重于各种专史的作法。主张抛弃"因果律"，否定原先承认的历史发展有规律可寻的观点。 《中国历史研究法》单行本出版前，曾于1921年11月15日起在《改造》杂志上陆续刊布。1922年1月以《中国文化史稿》第一编为副题,由商务印书馆初版发行,至1947年共印七版,收入《饮冰室合集》专集之七十三。《中国历史研究法补编》1933年由商务印书馆出版，至1947年共印六版，收入《饮冰室合集》专集之九十九。1987年9月由上海古籍出版社重新标点整理,合印出版。因为梁启超的史学思想在20年代有一定的代表性，两书问世以来，流传颇广，影响甚大，被誉为治国史者的指南针。
