小蠹小蠹Scolytidae;barkbeetle鞘翅目小蠹科的通称。该科昆虫按照食性分为两大类,树皮小蠹类和食菌小蠹类。为象甲总科中的高等类群。世界约6000种,中国约有500种。森林的重要害虫。虫体微小,体长1~9毫米,暗褐色。触角折曲呈膝状,末端3节膨大,构成锤状部;翅脉简化。无喙;足干扁,足胫节外缘有齿,或足胫节末端有1向干里面弯曲的刺;有发达的几丁质前胃。终生潜伏于树干中,只有新成虫羽化后的短暂时间飞离树身,在林中活动、觅食、交配,另筑坑道入侵新寄主。中国北方小蠹多1年1代,高温年份可出现2年3代或1年2代。北方小蠹多喜干旱,因此,高温少雨往往成为小蠹大量发生成灾的原因,在针叶林区,这种现象比较明显。图片小蠹是社群性昆虫,各穴的两性比数和两性分工均确定,性比因属而异,有一雄一雌、一雄数雌和一雄多雌等类型;雌虫修筑母坑道,同时在坑侧筑卵龛依次前进产卵,雄虫在侵入孔端头守候或在交配室内部,排出坑道中的木屑和代谢废物,并与雌虫交配。小蠹的坑道有繁殖坑道和营养坑道两种。繁殖坑道是由配偶成虫组成的窝穴,其中包括母坑道(或称卵坑道)、子坑道、蛹室、羽化孔、通气孔等。母坑道有纵向、横向或呈放射向的,有一条、数条或多条的,即单纵坑、复纵坑、单横坑、复横坑或星坑等。营养坑道为新成虫羽化后因取食树株干皮造成的痕迹,特征不明显。小蠹在木材上食害虫情景
