基本简介格氏栲自然保护区在三明市西南26公里的莘口乡楼源、曹源两村和永安市贡川乡境内。中心坐标为26°10′n,117°27′e。主要保护对象是以格氏栲为主的珍贵稀有树种与之相伴生的动植物资源及生存环境,探索格氏栲生长、发、演变的自然规律,为科研、教生产服务。在保护区内,已调查到的维管束植展物102科228属425种,经济菌内40种,鸟兽内100多种,昆虫两爬类近2000种,而格氏栲则以“珍贵稀少、材质良好、全身是宝”享誉八闽内外。总面积1125.6公顷,有格氏栲森林一万亩,储材量20余万立方米。这样集中成片的格氏栲林,为国内罕见,是目前世界上最大的格氏栲天然林区之一。保护区内伴生有樟、楠、檫、建柏、黄杞、黄楮、山肉桂等多种树木,还有水鹿、飞鼠、黑熊、穿山甲和白鹇、足鸡等飞禽走兽。 还有樟、楠、木荷、建柏、黄杞、山肉桂等木本植物,麦冬、砂仁、金线莲、七叶一枝花等中草药材上百种;林中还栖息着小鹿、黑熊、果子狸、飞鼠、白鹇、长尾雉、足鸡等珍禽异兽。自然保护区景观奇特,内涵丰富,不仅是一座天然风景区,还是科学研究基地。什么是格氏栲?格氏栲又名青钩栲、赤枝栲,学名栲树,英文名为:castanopsis kawakamii。分布在我国东起台湾、西至广西的宽阔地带。本世纪30年代,英国人格端米从广东采到标本,定名格氏栲,因发现日本一著名植物学者比格端米更早对此树种作过鉴定,故取消格氏栲学名,改称赤枝栲。格氏栲 系常绿大乔林,开黄花,树冠浓密,材质坚实,纹理美观,耐磨性强,是工业、军事、民用的上等用材。其果实富含淀粉,香甜可口,有“小板栗”之称。树皮和果壳含有丰富的单宁素,可以提取栲胶。格氏栲系珍稀林木,又名青钩栲,俗称“红柯”。常绿乔木,树冠浓密,开黄花;材质坚实,纹理细密,耐腐蚀,为造船和高档家具的上等材料;树皮可制栲胶;其果实含淀粉,甘甜可食,有“小板栗”之称。这片天然栲树林已有200多年历史,平均树高26米。三明格氏栲自然保护区土壤条件和肥力状况的研究研究表明,天然格氏栲林下土壤的质地大都为重壤土至轻粘土,其土壤的全氮、有机质及速效养分含量都明显高于其他林分的土壤.天然格氏栲林下土壤进入红壤土壤成土过程的最高阶段,形成具有较高肥力的土壤。格氏栲自然保护区的由来100多年前,英国有个姓格的林业专家在三明发现这片栲树林,回国后专门撰文介绍,人们因此命名格氏栲。国家级森林公园——格氏栲三明格氏栲于2000年被国家林业局评为国家级森林公园,2002年被国家旅游局授予aaaa级旅游区,2000年列入福建省第一批科普教育基地。科普教育内容参观标本馆:展示近千种昆虫标本,一千多份植物标本,一百多件鸟兽标本。 提供教学实习场所:每年接待数千名青少年到保护区实习考察。
