奈瑟氏球菌属  奈瑟氏菌科的 1属革兰氏染色阴性双球菌。因1879年德国医师A.L.S.奈瑟首先发现本属的淋病球菌而得名。菌体较小,直径为0.6~1.0微米的肾形球菌,常成双排列。无芽胞,无鞭毛,少数有荚膜。需氧或兼性厌氧,发酸能力弱,有氧化酶,不形成吲哚,不还原硝酸盐。DNA中的G+C克分子含量为 47~52%。寄生于哺乳动物的粘膜上。本属包括脑膜炎奈瑟氏球菌、淋病奈瑟氏球菌、粘液奈瑟氏球菌等种,其中除脑膜炎球菌和淋病球菌对人致病外,其余均属人类呼吸道的正常菌群。其主要生物学性状见表。           脑膜炎奈瑟氏球菌  人类流行性脑脊髓膜炎的病原菌,多数菌株在初分离时有荚膜。营养要求较高,培养基中必须含有血液或血清。适温37℃。24小时形成0.5~2毫米凸起、光滑、不溶血和略带灰色的菌落。有自溶酶,容易自溶。对干燥、 寒冷、 日光、各种消毒剂、磺胺、青霉素、链霉素和金霉素敏感。近年来,耐磺胺药菌株逐渐增多。根据抗原不同,可分为A、 B、 C、D、X、Y、Z、Z'8个血清群,致病的主要为前3群。本菌在呼吸道多  数只引起轻度上呼吸道感染,当进入血流到达中枢神经系统以后,才引起脑脊髓膜炎。致病物质主要是内毒素。特异性预防可采用脑膜炎球菌多糖菌苗,效果良好。    淋病奈瑟氏球菌  形态与脑膜炎球菌近似。营养要求高,培养基中需加血清或腹水。初次分离时必须有 5~10%的二氧化碳。不耐干燥或寒冷。55℃5分钟灭活。对磺胺、青霉素较敏感。但易产生耐药性。人是唯一的自然宿主。可引起急或慢性淋菌性尿道炎、阴道炎。主要通过性接触传播。母体如有淋菌性阴道炎或子宫颈炎,胎儿经产道分娩时可被感染而患淋菌性眼结膜炎。可用1%硝酸银滴眼预防。
