浙江蚕业(Zhejiang sericulture) 浙江蚕业(Zhejiang sericulture) 浙江省是中国4大蚕区之一，蚕业历史悠久。1958年在吴兴县(今吴州市)钱山漾发掘到新石器时代遗址文物中的绸片、丝线和丝带等，鉴定分析认为系公元前2750±100年之物。宋代，特别在宋室南迁建都后，浙江蚕业有较大发展，成为全国之冠。抗日战争期间，主产蚕茧的杭、嘉、湖一带，大片桑园被毁。1949年新中国建立前夕，浙江省的蚕桑生产已处于奄奄一息的状态。 中华人民共和国建立以后，浙江省蚕业有了很大的发展。1977年以前的蚕茧产量素居全国之冠，1978年起次于四川省，居第2位。 浙江省83个县(市)中，1984年有蚕桑生产的计76个县，主要区集中分布在杭州、湖州、嘉兴及绍兴地区。湖州是中国蚕茧产量最多的一个市(县)。 浙江省蚕茧生产随着蚕桑科学技术的逐步普及而提高。一年中以春蚕为主，秋蚕为辅；推广养夏蚕，由养一次秋蚕，改为养2-3次；提高了桑园面积的产茧量。逐步推广成片矮化密植，代替了零星稀植、中高干养成形式，增加了桑叶产量。80年代初，出口白厂丝约占全国的30%，出口绸缎占全国的25%。 蚕桑生产是浙江省农业生产的重要组成部分，仅次于粮、菜。蚕茧重点产区的蚕桑收入，在整个农业经济及群众生活中占重要位置，德清县蚕桑收入和丝绸加工产值均占全省农业、工业总产值的1／4左右。 蚕学馆创建于1898年，是中国第一所蚕业学校。1927年国立第三中山大学劳农学院设立蚕桑系，是即今浙江农业大学蚕桑系的前身。1984年全省有高等蚕业学校两所：浙江农业大学蚕桑系，浙江丝绸工学院；中等蚕业学校3所；绍兴市农业学校蚕桑专业，嘉兴市农业学校蚕桑专业和浙江省供销学校蚕茧收烘专业。有蚕业研究的单位3个；浙江农业科学院蚕桑研究所、湖州市蚕业研究所和浙江丝绸科学研究院。
