独生子女独生子女onlychild没有兄弟姐妹的孩子。独生子女与非独生子女,具有同样的身心发展规律。但在儿童社会化过程中,兄弟姐妹关系具有重要的作用。独生子女除了与父母之间的亲子关系外,没有兄弟姐妹这层关系,因此其社会化带有自身的特点。19世纪末,美国心理学家G.S.霍尔率先研究独生子女问题,分析了独生子女的特异性。1928年,H.F.胡克等人发表一系列研究论文,强调家族关系在人格形成中的重要性,把独生子女与家族联系起来加以研究。德国研究独生子女从医学角度开始,小儿科医生E.内特尔1906年发表了《独生子女及其教育》。1937年,日本保育会会长、儿童心理学家山下俊郎发表《独生子女其心理与教育》一文,阐述了独生子女的意义及其渊源,分析了独生子女的心理特点,提出了独生子女的教育原则。中国80年代以后,随着把提倡一对夫妇只生一个孩子、优生和优育定为一项基本国策,对独生子女问题的研究开始引起有关部门和专家学者的重视,并使用问卷、个案调查、实验、比较等方法,对独生子女与非独生子女进行比较研究。大多数研究者认为,独生子女在遗传体质方面与非独生子女无大的差异,但由于独生子女在家庭中所处的地位特殊,容易养成其性格上的特异性。有的学者重视把独生子女与家庭、家族联系起来加以研究。
