焦炭焦炭coke炼焦煤料在高温作用下,经过热解、缩聚、固化、收缩等一系列复杂的物理化学过程而形成的固体燃料。主要用于高炉炼铁和铜、铅、锌、钛、锑、汞等有色金属的鼓风炉冶炼,起还原剂、发热剂和料柱骨架作用。炼铁高炉采用焦炭代替木炭,为现代高炉的大型化奠定了基础,是冶金史上一个重大里程碑。冶炼用焦炭(冶金焦)必须具有适当的化学性质和物理性质,包括冶炼过程中的热态性质。灰分是焦炭燃烧后的残留物,灰分增加会使高炉焦比上升、熔剂消耗增加、生铁产量下降、成本提高,因此必须合理降低经过洗煤的精煤灰分。硫分是生铁的主要有害物质,要严格控制焦炭的硫分。水分波动会使入炉焦炭计量产生误差,影响高炉操作,要加以控制,并力求稳定。挥发分的高低是鉴别焦炭成熟程度的主要标志,正常焦炭的挥发分在1%左右。力学强度(包括抗碎强度和耐磨强度)是高炉用焦极重要的物理性质,焦炭如无足够的力学强度,容易在高炉内碎裂并产生较多的粉焦,使高炉料柱透气性变差,影响炉况顺行,耐磨强度尤为重要。焦炭还用于铸造、化工、电石和铁合金,其质量要求可有所不同。
