沈从文沈从文（1902～1988）中国作家，历史文物研究家。原名沈岳焕，笔名还有小兵、懋琳、炯之、休芸芸、甲辰、上官碧、璇若等。湖南凤凰人。苗族。小学毕业后长期在土著军队生活。1923年到北京靠自学从事文学写作。1926年开始发表作品，并与胡也频一起编辑《京报副刊》和《民众文艺》。1927年到上海吴淞中国公学任教。1928年与胡也频、丁玲先后编辑《红黑》杂志，并参加新月社。1930年任教于青岛大学。1934年主编北平《大公报》副刊《文艺》，次年主编天津《大公报》副刊和《益世报》副刊。抗战期间，在昆明西南联大任教。抗战胜利后，任北京大学教授。三四十年代期间，与杨振声、朱光潜等，集合平津一带的作家从事文学活动，形成较为一致的艺术追求和文学倾向，因而有“京派”或“京派作家”之称。图片沈从文是有名的多产作家，作品有《鸭子》、《蜜柑》、《阿丽思中国游记》、《神巫之爱》、《阿黑小史》、《月下小景》、《记丁玲》、《从文自传》、《八骏图》、《湘行散记》、《边城》、《长河》等小说、散文、文论、自传、通信的集子70多种。作品内容十分广泛，有表现少数民族风情的、有描写土著军队生活的、有刻画备受残害的农民形象的、有抨击虚伪丑恶的城市绅士和知识阶层的等等。写得最为出色的是闭塞荒僻的湘西地方的风土人情；作品中充满了迷人的风光、淳厚的民风、神秘的原始生活以及强悍的民族气质和蛮性力量，以及人们无法掌握自身命运的忧伤和感慨，具有浓厚的湘西地域的独特风采。中篇《边城》为其代表作。他的作品在艺术上除了注意细节描写的真实性外，还吸收浪漫主义手法，浸透抒情诗的气氛，创造出富有诗情画意的牧歌意境。这对后来的一些湘籍和非湘籍作家产生过较深影响。1957年以后，沈从文放弃了文学生涯，在中国历史博物馆、故宫博物院、中国社会科学院历史研究所等单位从事古代文物和工艺美术、文化史的研究。所编撰的如《中国丝绸图案》（与王家树合编）、《唐宋铜镜》、《龙凤艺术》、《中国古代服饰研究》等，多为很有学术价值的专门著作。
