硫氧还蛋白分子式:CAS号:性质:生物界内普遍存在的含有两个硫原子的一类分子量较小且具有氢载体功能的一些蛋白质总称。它们参与众多的生化反应,如核苷酸还原化、甲硫氨酸亚砜化、硫酸和二硫化物化反应,磷酸转移反应等。是生物体内把腺嘌呤、鸟嘌呤、胞嘧啶和尿嘧啶四种核糖核苷酸还原成相应的脱氧核糖核苷酸的酶(体)系(主要有四种蛋白组成)中的一个重要组分之一。还原型硫氧还蛋白可作为核糖核苷酸的天然还原剂;其氧化型可在硫氧还蛋白还原酶(thioredoxin reductase,Ec1.6.4.5.)催化下,由还原型烟酰胺腺嘌呤二核苷酸磷酸(NADPH)供给氢而被还原。以核糖核苷二磷酸的还原为例其作用和再生原理如图所示。目前用于生化试剂的硫氧还蛋白主要来自于大肠杆菌(Escherichia coli)、噬菌体l(bacteriophage T4)、肾棒杆菌(Corynebacterium nephridii)和螺旋藻(Spirulina sp.)等生物材料提取,并已完成对它们一级结构的测定。
