梯级水电站  在一条河流上修建的、上下游互相联系的一系列水电站。又称水电站梯级。为了充分利用天然河流所蕴藏的水力资源,往往在一条河流上不仅建造一座水电站,而是根据河流的地形、地质、水源等条件,同时考虑水库淹没损失的大小和各用水部门的要求,将拟开发的河段分成若干级,分别建设水电站。这些水电站的正常蓄水位常与上一水电站的正常尾水位互相衔接(见河流梯级开发),此外,在发电引水流量、发电能力、综合利用要求,以及向电网联合供电的方式等方面,也都有密切关系。在选择河流梯级开发方案时,应考虑以下原则:①各级水电站要争取首尾相连,充分利用全河流落差;②尽可能修建水库以调节流量,提高对河流流量的利用率,特别是要争取在上游梯级建造较大的龙头水库(把一条河流上的梯级水电站看成一条"龙",其上游梯级视为"龙头"),以提高全河流所有梯级电站的保证出力、调峰能力和发电量;③减少因筑坝所引起的淹没损失;④梯级中各水电站的布置形式应根据其地形、地质等条件选定,但各用水部门对上、下游水位、流量等常提出互相矛盾的要求,为寻求一条河流上水电站梯级的最优开发与运用方式,以达到最大的经济效益和平衡各部门的用水要求,需要进行复杂的分析比选。      国外已建成哥伦比亚河(美国)和叶尼塞河(苏联)等大河流的梯级水电站。中国在龙溪河、 以礼河、 猫跳河、 古田溪、 永定河等中小河流上已建成许多梯级水电站,取得了很好的经济效益。经规划选定的黄河上游水电站梯级开发方案(见图),在龙羊峡至青铜峡全长1023km的河段上,落差达1465m,共布置14个或15个梯级(黑山峡河段采用一级或二级开发),总装机容量达1396.6万kW。其中,龙羊峡水电站、刘家峡水电站及盐锅峡、八盘峡、青铜峡等五座水电站已建成发电,李家峡、大峡两座水电站也已开工兴建。全河段的这些梯级水电站全部建成后,对发展中国西北地区的国民经济将会发挥巨大的作用。
