体用一源 中国北宋程颐提出的哲学命题。意指事物中隐微的本原与其表露的现象之间，有相涵的统一关系。 程颐在其主要著作《伊川易传》中说："至微者理也，至著者象也；体用一源,显微无间"。他所谓体,指本原、本体；所谓用，指显现、作用。他认为隐微的理与显著的象，二者统一，没有间隙。无形的理，当以物象来显示其意义和功能,而有形之物,本于无形之理。所谓一源，即源于一理，理为根本。 朱熹进一步发挥了程颐的这一思想。他说："盖自理而言，则即体而用在其中，所谓'一源'也；自象而言，则即显而微不能外，所谓'无间'也"。指出体在用中，用不离体；理在物中，而物不外于理。朱熹把体用显微的关系，更严密地建立在以理为本的基础上，更系统地解说了体用相涵的统一关系。 明代王守仁以心来讲"体用一源"，他认为体是心，用是心之用，心之体即是理，心之用便是物，能得其体，用即在其中，以强调心就是一切的本原。明末王夫之改造了程朱的体用说，提出"道以为用,一阴一阳以为体"的思想,把体用统一在气的基础上。他所谓体即实体,用即体的功用或属性。他也以体为世界的本原，强调"由用以得体"，即从具体事物中认识世界的本原。
