旋翼机旋翼机autogyro利用前飞时的相对气流吹动旋翼自转以产生升力的旋翼航空器。全称自转旋翼机。旋翼机与直升机在外形上有些相似,但它的旋翼不像直升机那样由动力装置直接驱动,而是前进时在空气动力作用下像风车那样自行旋转,产生升力。它的前进力由动力装置直接提供。而在直升机上前进力是由旋翼前倾产生的。此外,自转旋翼没有反扭矩的作用,在旋翼机上无须安装尾桨。第一架成功的旋翼机是1923年由西班牙人J.切尔瓦研制出来的。旋翼机与直升机相比其缺点是:旋翼机必须有前进速度,才能使旋翼自转以产生升力。它不能垂直上升,也不能在空中悬停。旋翼机的结构比直升机简单,起飞滑跑距离较轻型飞机的短,一般用于游览和体育活动。
