校对校对proofreading根据原稿或定本，核对并订正抄件或排版校样的工作过程。校对的主要职责是保证出版物的文字质量，即根据原稿，对比和改正校样中的差错，同时对原稿中遗留的文字技术问题提出改正意见。操作方法有4种：①点校。用左手指原稿，右手执笔点校样，先看一句原稿，记在脑子里，再看一句校样，经过对比，改正校样上的差错。②折校。将原稿摊开，逐行折叠校样，使二者相应的字句对齐，一目双行地对比和改正校样上的差错。③读校。一人朗读原稿，另一人阅读校样，对比和改正校样上的差错。④通读。基本脱离原稿，遇到人名、地名、专用名词、数字和有疑问的地方，再查对原稿。
