新生霉素分子式：CAS号：性质：链霉菌 Streptomyces niveus，S. spheroides，S. griseus等产生的香豆素类抗生素。浅黄色结晶，熔点152～156℃(分解)，紫外吸收光谱λmax0.1mol/L HCl:238nm(肩)、324nm(390)，旋光度-63°(c=1.0，乙醇)。溶于低级醇、丙酮、乙酸乙酯与pH值7.5以上的水溶液。一钠盐熔点210～215℃，旋光度-34°(c=1.08，水)。二钠盐为无定形粉末，无明显熔点。已完成全合成。抗菌作用与青霉素G、红霉素相似，主要抗革兰氏阳性菌，金葡菌的最小抑菌度MIC一般为1～4μg/ml，对耐青霉素的金葡菌或对其他抗生素已产生耐药性的菌株依旧敏感。对革兰氏阴性菌除嗜血杆菌外，大都不敏感，对立克次体、真菌、病毒无效。口服吸收迅速，2～4h血药浓度达到高峰18.8μg/ml(一次口服500mg)，半衰期在3h以上。一次静脉注射250mg，血药浓度平均值为60μg/mi，4h时为5～10μg/ml。缺点是细菌对之易产生耐药性，影响其应用。现在主要用于金葡菌、链球菌、肺炎球菌感染。作用机制是抑制细菌DNA旋转酶。
