相术相术推测人的气数、命运的一种迷信。通常根据人的五官、气色、骨骼、指纹等推断其寿夭、荣枯、吉凶、祸福。因以面貌为主，故又称相面。中国春秋时代已出现不完备的相书。汉代开始，相术成为一门有其独特理论体系的学问，同时出现了一些相书和专门从事相术活动的相士，相术开始重视相骨。唐代时重要的相书是敦煌本《相书》，有9卷，35篇，认为人体的各个部位都可以相。内容也从服务于少数人的升官发财，发展到求子求女、求贤夫贤妻、求田地等，渗透到人们的日常生活中。宋代，相术达到鼎盛时期，出现了完整的相书《麻衣相法》，其主要内容是相五官，作者相传是麻衣道士。《麻衣相法》汇集了宋以前相学的精华，建立了比较完整的体系，开创了中国相学的应用领域，并使相术在朝野广为流传。明代有相书《柳庄相法》。作者袁珙，一生游历，曾与一位异僧学习相术。他能以听声、观相推断人之吉凶。清代的相术著作，为旧有相书的解释、改编或修订，无大发展。随着相术不被统治阶级重视而流于市井乡陌，成为纯粹的末流小道，相术逐渐衰落。
