大东沟景区东沟景区以水景和原始林木而闻名。鸡公山大东沟瀑布有20多处，其中松林湾瀑布、高峰瀑布、大小滴水瀑布最为有名，它们大都雄伟而妩媚，最有名的是两个瀑布，一个是松林湾瀑布；还有一个是高峰瀑布，然后我们再去大滴水瀑布。以前从中心区到东沟瀑布群只有一条羊肠小道上下，交通十分不便。1992年风景区管理局与新加坡星雅投资公司合资修建了一条空中索道。索道全长1026米，从上站到下站大概需要20分钟时间。进入了东沟，仿佛进入了绿色的世界，天然的森林氧吧，山清水秀、林木茂密、空气清新，让我们尽情享受回归大自然的无穷乐趣。松林湾瀑布了，该瀑跌水16米，宽2米，坡度85°，潭深0.5米，潭面16平方米，这一带山形如椅，底如天井，盘石陡峭，古木攀藤，四周花枝竟秀，其乐无穷，沿着这条潺潺的溪水，向上走，一路走来，你会发现，两边的山还保留着部分原始森林，保留着对于现代生活里越来越显珍贵的原始的旷味。高峰瀑布这里植被丰茂，种类繁多，高等植物就有1700余种，入药的600余种，所以每年有很多生物学者、学生来此采集标本。高峰瀑布悬瀑30米，宽3米，坡度90°。再往前走就到龙潭瀑布，水声越来越大，真是“未见其形，先闻其声”，此瀑布落差12米，宽2米，瀑布从山上直泻而下，远观如身披轻纱的仙女，下有一清潭，深2.5米，面积300平方米，潭四周群山合抱，形似太极，潭水清澈游鱼可数，在出水口有一枫杨树，又称河柳，挺然而立，故称“砥柱柳”。最壮观的大滴水瀑布，“世之奇妙瑰丽之景色，常在于险远”，大滴水瀑布高差42米，宽3米，破陡90°。两山合抱，巨石并立，仰观落帽，飞泉自高峡喷出，瀑布如玉带飘落，声势震耳，真是“飞流直下三千尺，疑是银河落九天”。如果是冬季来看此瀑布，滴水成冰、悬崖倒挂，有如银蛇又似蜡像，景象十分壮观。位于白沙关南侧的是“红花屋基”，相传明末清初，有一武艺高强的女英难姓李，叫红花，为反对明清统制者，带领结义姐妹来到鸡公山白沙关安营扎寨，操练兵马，保卫乡民。红花女在此开了一个茶馆叫红花店，红花女曾与农民起义军首领鸡公大王——张吉光结为夫妻，共守山寨，抗击官兵，劫富济贫，现在只剩遗迹，只见四周山上杜鹃红如火，不见当年帼国英雄展义旗。鸡公山大东沟还有小滴水、三叠瀑布、龙宫瀑布等等。
