表面强化表面强化surfacestrengthening改善机械零件和构件表面性能、提高疲劳强度和耐磨性能的工艺方法。又叫表面处理。表面强化有时还能提高耐腐蚀性能。由于工作中的零件表面常处于最大应力状态,且在不同的介质环境中工作,使得零件的失效和破坏大多发生在表面或从表面开始,所以需要对零件表面进行强化。表面强化一般分为表面热处理(如火焰淬火、感应加热热处理等)、表面化学处理(如渗碳、渗氮、渗金属等)和表面机械处理(如喷丸和滚压等)三种。利用压缩空气或离心力将大量直径细小的丸粒(如钢丸、玻璃丸等)高速向零件表面喷射的方法称为喷丸,适用于任何复杂形状的零件。喷丸后零件表面产生冷硬层和残余压应力,使用寿命可提高数倍至数十倍。用淬硬的钢辊子在零件表面滚轧的强化方法称为滚压。滚后使零件表面产生塑性变形和残余压应力,能显著提高零件的精度和降低表面粗糙度,滚压一般用于形状简单的零件。
