吖啶  又称氮蒽。 为蒽中间环系上的一个碳原子被氮原子取代而成的化合物,分子式C13H9N。它也可看作是二苯并吡啶。吖啶和蒽共存于煤焦油中。    吖啶为近乎无色的晶体;熔点 111℃,沸点 345~346℃,相对密度1.005(20/4℃);具有弱碱性,能形成苦味酸盐。吖啶的三级胺的氮原子可以发生四级铵化反应,形成铵盐。它的荧光性质极为特殊,盐类的稀溶液具有绿色荧光,再经稀释,由于盐的水解,变为游离的吖啶,显紫色荧光。吖啶对皮肤、眼和鼻均有刺激性。吖啶非常稳定,其结构与蒽相似,化学性质也很相似。9,10两位比较活泼,还原时,首先变为9,10-二氢吖啶。芳香取代反应较难进行。在高温下,可以发生硝化和磺化反应。    吖啶及其衍生物由吖啶酮制取。 吖啶酮由二苯胺-2-羧酸用硫酸并环而得,用戊醇和钠还原成9,10-二氢吖啶后再氧化,就得到吖啶:    吖啶苯环上的氢被氨基取代后,为一大类吖啶染料的母体。抗疟剂阿的平是吖啶9-氨基的衍生物。有些生物碱,如密茱萸碱,是吖啶酮的衍生物。
